Soccer, baseball, football, softball, dodgball, volley ball, etc. We love sports, no matter how big or small. We love to watch them, play them, and talk about them. If our daughter were to become a well known athlete she wouldn't be the first with her name.
Good Luck!

Okay, here we go:
I'm leaning toward Michelle (Akers) or Mia (Hamm) since they're soccer players. However, Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Edwards are basketball players and they are GREAT names!!!! Of course, if you mean literally the "same name," it might be Camille Duvall - different spelling but same name. (She's a water skier). My favorite would have to be Danica (Patrick), cause she's a race car driver and that's just cool! Mom Minter
Susan, after the famous Susan Howlet Butcher - the famous dog musher (Obviously!)
~Rebecca~
Well, you mentioned soccer first, so of course, there's Michelle(Akers), Brandi (Chastain),Julie (Foudy),and Mia(do we really NEED a last name?) Of these, I love Michelle, and of course, it goes quite well with DeVol!I noticed that you didn't list basketball. I looked at just the "A" names on Wkkipedia Women Basketball players, and they listed Svetlana, Chantelle, Janeth, Marlies, La'Tangela, Seimone, and the most UNUSUAL name, Jennifer. Could it be perhaps one of these names??? I'll move on to other sports tomorrow! Love, Aunt Linda
I'm going with Picabo. Why wouldn't you name your child after her? She's an amazing athlete, and with all those chapstick commercials she made I bet she's got exceptionally soft lips. And that is definitely a characteristic every parent wants their child to have! Right?

...I do like Jennifer....

Well, I hate to ruin these kind of games for everyone, but an inside source has pointed me to Kareem Abdul Jabbar DeVol. Sorry to cut this game off so short.

Well, I must say I immediately thought of Venus Williams and I was sure I had it figured out. Then, I thought... Well, Serena may be some competition.... on the court but DEFINITELY NOT IN THIS GAME!!! It's definitely Venus.
Then, I thought about some other crazy cool names like Althea (Gibson- first African American to play at Wimbledon) and Wilma (Rudolph- won 3 gold medals in track & field in the 1960 summer olympics), Billy Jean (King- of course another tennis STAR)...
But after all this, I am quite confident that I have found the answer.
Miss Wilman Mankiller (born in 1945) was the first woman to be named Chief of the Cherokee Nation. She must be quite a mankiller! (and we all know what a sport that is, now don't we?)
Let's hear it for Wilma! Wilma the Mankiller and Christin the caterpillar killer (that has a nice ring to it!)
